The 8 Palaces in Qimen (for learning purposes)

Each palace is a stage, and every matter plays out on one of them. Pick a palace and an aspect of life to see what kind of play is running there.

How to use this in a chart

Find the Subject or Answer palace in your chart.
Pick that palace in the grid below.
Choose the aspect of life in the question.
Read the stage: is it a time to act, wait or be cautious?

Laid out as in a Qimen chart: South at the top, North at the bottom.

Palaces never move. Every line adds up to 15.

Learning note: This page explains only the meaning of each of the 8 palaces for learning purposes.

A real reading looks at the whole chart — stems, deity, star, door, Fuyin/Fanyin, Stem and Stem combinations, Grave, Six Punishments, emptiness, horse, element relationships and the question asked.
