2Open the chart for your birthday

In M.Qimen, set the date to your birth date and the time to your birth time minus 55 minutes.

The 55-minute adjustment caters for Singapore's historical time change. Singapore moved its clocks forward to GMT +8 in 1982, so births from 1982 onwards take off 55 minutes. Born before 1982? Ask Patrick for the right adjustment.

Fill in both boxes to see the date and time to enter in M.Qimen.

3Find your palace

Look at the Day pillar at the top of the chart. Its first character is your Day Stem.

Find the palace where your Day Stem is the bottom stem, the one to the right of the Star. That palace is you.

Opposite palaces: 1↔9 · 2↔8 · 3↔7 · 4↔6

  • Empty palace: if your palace shows the empty mark, move to the opposite palace and read that one instead. For example, an empty Palace 3 means you read Palace 7.
  • Day Stem is Jia? Jia never shows on the chart; it hides under another stem. Use your Day pillar to find it: 甲子→戊 · 甲戌→己 · 甲申→庚 · 甲午→辛 · 甲辰→壬 · 甲寅→癸. How to find the hidden Jia ↗
4Select what is in your palace

If you moved to the opposite palace, choose the deity, star, door and horse from that palace. Your Day Stem stays the same.

For guidance only. This reading uses one palace (stem, deity, star, door, horse) to describe character. A full consultation reads the whole chart.

Indicating interest in OneNS does not guarantee a posting. Medical suitability, skills and operational needs also decide where you serve.
