Your Qimen components appear here once you enter your birth details above and press Show my Qimen components.

Qimen here is a separate, traditional perspective. It is interpreted on its own and never changes the three lifestyles chosen from your answers. Learn the symbols: Components in each Palace · Still unsure? Consult Patrick Sia

How the matching works

This is a simple, open set of rules — a lifestyle exploration aid, not a psychometric measurement. It does not give match percentages.

Fulfilment (Q1) and purpose (Q6) add 3 points to the matching lifestyle, each interest (Q3) adds 2, and learning (Q4) and social life (Q5) add 1. Some answers also give a smaller point to one related lifestyle, but no single answer can add more than its limit. Your concern (Q2) and limits (Q7) are not scored — they only change the advice and which activities are suggested, so no lifestyle is ever ruled out because of budget or mobility.

The three highest are shown. Ties are broken by your interests (Q3), then fulfilment (Q1), then the catalogue order. At least one of the three always reflects an interest you chose. The third is labelled an Alternative to explore when it is tied, when you chose only one interest, or when it is well behind the top lifestyle.

The optional Qimen reflection uses the birth palace for your current life stage, worked out from your birth details. It is interpreted separately and never changes your three lifestyles. Its retirement themes are illustrative associations written for this page from Patrick’s character notes — not classical rules.
